Fran how do you feel about a Spaghett (aperol + beer)??

Fran Hoepfner's avatar

Pro!!!!!!!!! Rare treat though I really have to be wanting the aperol

Spaghett good (though name is truly horrible) but my friend Dylan recently invented the Camillo, which is a Negroni sans gin that you top off with a lager. As you sip, you replenish with more of the beer, which is like a spaghett with inverted proportions that make it taste more like a cocktail. It’s amazing and I can’t recommend it enough.

I like the name I'll say it ...

parson's chicken and fish on a spring day... michelada in one hand... basket of fish fry in the other... and then a negroni slushy to fall asleep in the sun :)

Not to be all "well, actually..." but ACTUALLY, drinking beer through a straw is the most traditional thing you could do--ancient Mesopotamian people, the inventors of beer, did it! (maybe because plant bits would not always be strained out and would float to the top so they could avoid them with straws, maybe just because it was part of communal drinking culture).

I was doing some of this research as well and loving what I saw… THIS is what ppl are talking about when they say “reject modernity”

Michelada is the perfect summer beverage!! Over St Patrick’s Day, I had a green shandy which was beer, Green River, and lime juice. It was honestly so tasty, I haven’t stopped thinking about it/will be recreating for summer day drinking

Fran Hoepfner's avatar

not me thinking green river was green from the Chicago River ….

having a michelada version of an acid flashback (tentatively calling this a michelada flashback) to one or both of us having a michelada at 90 Mile and now needing a michelada as I read this at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning. but I have had beer through a straw and cannot overstate my distaste. ur just gonna burp it up!!!

Fran Hoepfner's avatar

girls don’t burp!!!!!!! Have you considered…

Love a michelada but love a Mexican lager on its own just a touch more. Don't think I can join the beer with a straw train. The idea of a straw in a beer short circuits my brain which occasionally feeds me the Jon Taffer/Bar Rescue quote "Beer drinkers love their beer with a good head."

Fran Hoepfner's avatar

Mexican lager the ultimate tbh

I've never had a michelada

I’ve gotten into buying micheladas when I attend baseball games, and I will get stopped by so many people wanting to talk about it. The people’s drink!

Fran Hoepfner's avatar

I should be doing this at baseball games too…

I would think that maybe a straw in a beer would *reduce bloating* like maybe stirring my beer would get rid of some of the carbonation? But I don’t actually know. I think it’s fine! People (some men) are weird about beer anyway.
