i think @varcmus said it best on twitter (which i am not on, i got this tweet secondhand): “i think a lot of people on here are young and have yet to reckon with the concept of mortality so they think people mourning someone they've deemed "bad" dying reveals something about their character... but it doesn't”. i am and will probably continue to mourn him for a long time. i hope his family is okay and safe.
Did I always know you first watched Scream the weekend of me and Geoff’s wedding???I’m so moved by this???? He and I almost dressed up as Billy and Stu for Halloween a few years back but we ended up doing a last minute pivot. Maybe next time…
this is a comment not relevant to anything in this particular dispatch but i wanted to say thank you for sharing a link to that old bbc documentary about mike leigh's process a few weeks ago - i finally watched it the other night because i have tickets to hard truths tonight (truly cannot wait!!!) and i both learned a lot and was so moved by it. what a filmmaker!
omg I'm so glad you watched!!! kind of a must - I feel like he winds up explaining it all in most interviews but it's most clear in actual practice, plus such a great glimpse at everyone's amazing hair during that time period
White Chocolate Peppermint - this is an old classic. I am a (rare?) white chocolate enjoyer, and this is a fun treat, though not as good as Jeni's Backyard Mint. I am turning on the concept of "peppermint" in my old age
Iced Molasses Gingerbread - I feel like I've had a version of this at some point. probably yummy.
Seven Layer Bar - jury is out on this for me. could either be so good or piss me off, leaning towards the latter
Lemon Crinkle - she's never done a better lemon flavor than the Lemon Buttermilk Yogurt... I'm sick of this
Pistachio Macaron - this could be major
Boozy Eggnog - another old flavor from like a full decade ago. always good!! I love eggnog
Scream rocks - Matthew Lillard's bleeding-to-death "my mom and dad are gonna be so MAD at me" is such perfect self-absorbed teenager pathetic-ness that will never leave my memory. I gotta check out Red Rocket now that it's on Prime, Tangerine and Florida Project are classics in my house. I watched 20 minutes of the original Suspiria last night before turning it off; I wanted something scary or wacky and was just kinda bored. Felt the same way with Nicole Kidman's The Others, which I at least finished in the hopes of something exciting.

48 hours after i watched it and i am unfortunately still considering taking a screenshot to my stylist to get alison steadman's exact hair...
I went for the Blethyn bob BUT I do keep thinking about Steadman's shag........ maybe I'll grow out my hair
What do you think of the Jeni’s holiday flavors?
